Very clean, strong, bold. I can really see the van Gogh influence in this piece, the design, the colours, the simplicity. The dignity of the bison, like the suffering hard-working peasants in the golden fields painted by Vincent and his beloved Millet.

Thank you Kate. What a wonderful comment. I love the way you worded it.

Yes I was thinking the same thing when I painted the fields ... I really tried to not put in too much detail ... The coats of the closer Bison are quite heavily built up in paint giving it a bit of a three dimensional feel to it. The trees in the background as well.
