this is actually my second oil painting .... The chicks were my first. Basically an experiment to familiarize myself with the medium. I had a hard time trying to get the lighting right. It was strongly backlit and the reference photo that I was using had that hazy, dusty look to it which I've yet to master ..... but give me time. I didn't feel to work this over much more than I have because of my understanding that it wasn't going to have the effect that I was trying to get. The mane needs alot more work, but I'll write it off as an impresionist or representual style of painting. Shhhhhh ... don't tell anyone okay ?

Neither have I. My parents ay it's too expensive.

But yes, I do love horses. At a friends sleepover me and another friend were up at 6.30 am feeding the horses. We stayed there for hours! Anything horse related, I love. Unless its related to horses in a bad way...

woah....you answer your comments?? most artists as talented as you are dont. wow....thats cool.

i love this. it holds so much emotion and the colors make me happy. i love palaminos....this makes me wanna go hop on my pony and ride into the sunset bareback and without a bridle! whoo! i love how fuzzy his face is

Thanks for liking this one ... I haven't been horseback riding for years ... I used to go to my cousins since she had horses but I haven't been since she stopped keeping them.

thats too bad....i'd say go on a trail ride but thats kinda boring. i wish they had trail rides that more advanced riders could trot, canter, and gallop. i went on one once...but it was in Hawaii and my horse was lazy and wouldnt go faster than trot

oh god i know! the only time i thought it was fun when we went backpacking and went in the backcountry to find streams for flyfishing. omg if you ever get the chance to do something like that DO IT its a blast!

here's a pic of one of the horses i'm "babysitting" hes a goofball [link]
